NOWOA Scholarships Offered to Area Wrestlers
 

The Northeast Ohio Wrestling Officials Association (NOWOA) is committed to promoting and supporting wrestling by encouraging graduating seniors in the Northeast District to carry on with their participation at the college/university level by offering scholarships to two deserving wrestlers. This scholarship program is made possible by the membership of the NOWOA as a result of donations, sponsorships and participants at their annual golf outing.

These two student-athletes will each be eligible to receive a $750 scholarship award.
 
Criteria for student-athletes to apply:
 

1)     Student athletes must be in their senior year of high school and have earned a 2.5 G.P.A. throughout their high school experience.  Please provide a copy of the student's transcript from grades 9-12 to the attention of  Mr. Guy Trinetti, 29720 Green Dr.; Willowick, OH. 44095.

 

2)     Student athletes must be enrolled and have completed their first year of college and be academically in good standing.
 

3)     Student athletes must complete at least their college freshman year in good standing on the school’s wrestling team.
 

4)     The Student athlete must complete and submit  the NOWOA's Scholarship Application Form by March 15, 2009 and all required documents to be eligible and considered.
 

5)     All applications will be reviewed and the top ten (10) candidates will be asked to provide three (3) letters of recommendation to include one from his/her coach,  one from a current teacher or school administrator and one from an individual other than a relative or school personnel.
 

All funds will be released at the conclusion of the student-athlete's first year of college provided all criteria has been met and proof has been provided to the chair of the NOWOA Scholarship Committee.
